Built With Resolve

Some things require more than motivation.

They require resolve.
They require sabr.
They require you to stay firm when things become heavy.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

Luqman 31:17

يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

“O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, that is of the matters requiring resolve.”

This ayah is advice from Luqman to his son.

It is direct.
Practical.
And heavy with meaning.

He mentions prayer.
He mentions calling to what is right.
He mentions staying away from what is wrong.
And then he mentions patience.

Because whoever wants to live upon what is good will be tested.

You cannot stay firm without sabr.

“That is of the matters requiring resolve.”
