Guided Through Striving
Not every effort carries the same value.
You can work hard.
You can do a lot.
You can have discipline.
You can keep going when something feels heavy.
But the real question is:
Who are you doing it for?
Allah says in the Qur’an:
Al-‘Ankabut 29:69
وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
“And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
This ayah is powerful.
Allah speaks about people who strive for Him.
Not for ego.
Not for status.
Not to be seen.
Not to look better than others.
But for Allah.
That is the core.
The ayah does not only mention effort.
It mentions effort in the way of Allah.
That can include remaining steady in obedience.
Staying away from sin.
Being patient when something is difficult.
Seeking knowledge.
Improving yourself.
Continuing to choose what pleases Allah.
Then comes the promise:
“We will surely guide them to Our ways.”
Whoever sincerely strives for Allah is not left to himself.
Allah opens paths of guidance.
Paths toward truth.
Paths toward obedience.
Paths toward what is good.
That is what makes this ayah so strong.
Guidance comes from Allah.
Not because a person is perfect.
But because he sincerely strives for Allah.
The ayah ends with:
“And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
The doers of good are the people of ihsan.
Ihsan means doing good with sincerity, awareness of Allah, and excellence.
Not just doing something.
But doing it well.
Not just striving.
But striving with a clean intention.
Not only looking strong on the outside.
But working on sincerity, character, and obedience on the inside.
For DeenStrength, the link with training is clear, but it must stay pure.
This ayah is not about sport as the goal.
But training can be a tool.
A tool to build discipline.
A tool to practise self-control.
A tool to care for your body as an amanah.
A tool to become stronger in character and responsibility.
But only when the intention is right.
Do not train for ego.
Do not train to impress.
Do not train to stand above others.
Train with awareness.
Train with responsibility.
Train with a clean intention.
Use your strength in a way that pleases Allah.
Because effort only gains real value when it has the right direction.
Guided Through Striving means:
Strive for Allah.
Make effort on His path.
Stay sincere.
Do good with ihsan.
And trust that guidance comes from Allah.
